Hello!

Natural Selection 2 has come a long way since Fall 2009 and the competitive scene is starting to launch off and as a result we're going to take the first step towards real competition. So without further ado let me introduce you the first of many Night Cups to come!

Welcome to the first NS2 Night Cup. It will take place on May 26.-27. and signups will close on May 25th. The cup will be double-elimination so that means everyone gets to play at least 2 matches. Since is the first Night Cup and we're still experimenting with all the NS2 rules and stuff and we're always open to suggestions (please use our forums Suggestion section). And because of this we're locking down the team slots to 8 (if there's more intrest we might go as high as 10).

Basic rules:

• All matches must be played 6v6.

• A match between teams will be one map on the elimination rounds, and 2 maps in both semi-final and grand final.
• There are 4 maps that will be played, one each round. When there is a draw, the first of the backup maps will be played that are specific to each round.
• All matches should be played on server that has newest Insight installed to help the scene grow as a competitive sport.

• Only spectators allowed are admins, referees and shoucasters.

If there's eager people out there wanting to shoutcast the matches and can speak fluent english please contact me. I'll release list of matches that will be shoutcasted and where, and also so that teams know who to let in the server.

If you're new (or old) player to competitive scene and looking for a team there are a few teams looking for members! You can use our forums Recruitment section to let teams to know you're available or apply to the teams by yourself. Here are some teams that are currently recruiting:

We are currently planning on doing 2-3 Night Cups and after that a bigger league style tournament "King of the Beta" in anticipation of NS2 release so stay tuned!
