Alright, the movie is in 60FPS so you might wanna make sure you've got latest gfx drivers and newest VLC (if you're using it) so you could possibly use your graphics card to do the decoding. In VLC settings, make sure both in VLC video and Input&Codecs, you're using hardware-accelerations for decoding. I recommend closing all other pgorams aswell. Just take task manager and go down the list.

Yeah, yeah good movie. But it's so absurd how I seem to rate frags so differently than rest of people. I don't care how many you kill but how you kill.
My frag against Germany will never see daylight, and it makes me cry. My best frag ever and you cut it! At least you kept my frag against ER.

Your frag against ER should've never been in the movie dude. Sure, I can appreciate the aim and skilled movement, but it isn't a very good frag.

Dude, it's much better frag than 3-4 skulks with lmg or 6 skulks with sg. Those kind of frags are boring, happens in every match. It's not my problem if you don't appreciate true skill.

A. What "true skill" really is with regards to frags.
B. What kind of frags look good in a movie.

imo frag movie should be very dynamic suited to music since it's cool to see lots of frags with fast music in short time with some nice played effect just like in this movie i dunno about those frags of yours tane but i think since fana is experienced movie maker so is jiriki i believe they had good reason to not put those frags in the movie(s) : P

Great movie. Quality makes it even better, it's really smooth it's incredible ! Definitely a very good point on that.
Most frags were pretty awesome also, props to aA for his Jetpack where we see nice evades, and also the play versus USA team where the cappers get raped hard early game.

Well, what is a good frag?
Someone could say that is has to show great amount of skill, it has to look good, it have to have something special in it which separates it from the rest of frags.

Aesthetics values of course are highly subjective, but maybe we can find something formal objectivity from them.
I would say: more difficult the frag is to pull of the more beautiful it is, e.g. shooting from difficult positioning always increases the beauty of frag. So when frag "looks good", it is difficult to pull off.

Skill in frags is quite straight forward. Good frag has to show skill. Normally this done by great aim, in some frags this is done by movement or decision making, and in best of frags these all appear.

When I try to think the very best frags, they always have something "special" which makes them unique. I personally call them "once a lifetime frags", because you can't copy them. This uniqueness is often made by movement, e.g. Avex's frag against Saunamen in Natural Domination. But then frags which are based on aiming are easy to copy, e.g. my frag against SD and enigmatic’s frag against Russians are almost identical in this movie.

By all these standards I rate my frag against ER more highly than any my other frags in this movie.

tbh it´s really good but there is far more depth in a lot of other movies. And yes I am a freak , I got all NS movies and I watched them atleast 10 times each :D. Good video quality is one thing but in the past ppl were just not able to get a quality like that.

All god points, Tane, but I don't agree with the conclusions you draw from them.

Certainly, skill in frags can be judged from a few objective qualifiers. The following questions are a decent place to start: How good is the aim, how good is the movement, how many and what aliens go down and how good are the opponents. Uniqueness of the frag however, doesn't enter into it. A frag can be unique, but still not very skilled.

When you ask what looks good in a movie, the qualifiers change a bit. Of course you want skilled frags, as they're usually more interesting, but there are also other things to consider. Most important are: How much woah! per time in this clip (time in a movie is like real estate in a crowded city: scarce) and how well does it lend it self to sync. In a movie, uniqueness becomes much more important. Still however, uniqueness alone isn't going to make a boring clip interesting.

In then end, your frag is a long clip with two skulk frags against mediocre players. As I've already said, the aim and dodging are nice, but there's nothing woah! about it. It isn't by any means awful, but jiriki had other, subjectively better, clips he didn't dare use because you were so adamant about that clip. In the end that hurt the quality of the movie in my opinion.

I will agree with you that aesthetics are highly subjective though, as evidenced by our disagreement over this.

I presume you have only seen that frag from this movie. Situation was following: fade, two skulks and one late skulk against two lmg marines which are building a rt. That is an impossible situation for marines.

Perfect aim, unique movement, excellent situation making, sure I take only two skulks down(I took out three skulks, but Jiriki for some reason cut the first kill) and while I may agree that Gibbz is a mediocre player, I don't rate tutu as a mediocre player.

So it seems your critic lies in amount of frags. Here we disagree, like I said I'm focused how you do your kills. Pantsu's frag is good example of frag in which I don't see anything at all. He just presses mouse1 and fades just blink toward him, there is no skill only luck.

I'm aware that you have to make compromises for overall enjoyment of movie. In my opinion, those skulk clips breaks the movie much more than my ER clip, but then again this is just an opinion.

"no skill only luck" is a stupid statement. pantsu's aim is actually very good in that frag. That isn't why it's cool in a movie though. It's just a ridiculous frag, like Scale hand nading two fades. There's a large element of luck involved, but killing three fades and a skulk in one HMG clip is movie worthy just 'cause.

Tutu was never a good skulk, he was more of a marine/Fade specialist. ER was before Gibbz got good at NS and you also have to take the skill of the Fade into account.

This is all very irrelevant with regards to how it looks in a movie though. At least I don't analyze frags that thoroughly when watching a movie: I'm just looking for cool frags and your frag wasn't cool enough.

I used skipping a lot more in IFN. In tihs movie, I only skipped stuff when aA was just repositionig himself in laser and when I was shooting mc in vent or marko was shooting the rt in dbl. Also I just used skipping to sync the SG shots better in there.

overall I think u should really do less skipping... it´s still too much. IFN is good though but it feels like lagging.

How is 3 times too much? And what's so exciting about watching someone kill a RT or MC gobot? Besides, you can count them as seperate frags if it bothers you. :p

Or, if you mean fast-forwarding, I just use it to sync frags with the music. Almost all of the frags are in normal or near normal speed anyway. That's all. IFN is much much faster than this, but if you watched it several times, you'll get used to it. IFN was lagging because of HLTV demos back then just are laggy in general, just like I said in the comments back then.

I also got lots of those "what just happened" moments. Maybe some pre-scene about the setup would have helped some scenes. In that tanith vent scene skipping really made it hard to understand what really happened. I remember danny saying he didn't notice the sg in vent, but you can't see that from the film at all. Also I just had to try to kill the sg even with bad odds. (Was totally worth it ;D.) I also had to watch the scene like 5 times to confirm it was 3 shot kill.

I feel like there was lots of gather frags. You could have probably added the date and "gather" note there so you know how serious the match was.

Showing the name of the fragger maybe a bit before the actual scene would have made it less messy. It feels stupid to try to check the name rather than watch the action or wise versa.

Nice and smooth picture. Some scenes were a bit dark. Wasn't there a way to try to correct the brightness a bit? The credits scene fit really well there. Also the film didn't feel like too short or too long. Nice frag movie.

And nice random sg spread for the lerk in power. :D

jirki yeh I mean the fast forwarding... I pretty much dito what vartija just said above. I think there should be a normal flow in a clip... all the forwarding and stuff makes it really not enjoyable watching the movie.

Gobot, I use it to sync the movie, otherwise it'll be just frags with some music in the background. Of course speeding up is a two-edged sword. Just like AoW, wltrs terminating whole alien team in c12 cargo and topo - first I didn't realize what the hell just happened because it happened so fast but man it looked cool. Maybe not everyone likes such style, but can't please everyone. Kind of like motion blur.

Pretty much what jiriki just said. Editing is a double edged sword: The fancier you get, the more focus you take away from the frags. There's no way around that unfortunately.

As I said I watched a lot of movies, and I think u dont need to sync the music on like every shot or even frame or sth... It´s just too much. Just my two cents.

I just hope this "overediting" (in my eyes) doesnt develop into a new style that everybody tries to copy. Cause tbh I dont really like it.

Pantsus clip is too dark. Needed to be watch many times to really "see" what happened there. And after that is was more like "ok 3 fades" than "whoa 3 fades".

Tanith vent clip is bad. I actually like fast forwarding and slomos in movies. Like in other clips in this movie, but in that clip it didn´t work. Mayby it was too fast or something. Left me with bad taste in my mouth(I perhaps vomited a little bit for it´s horribulness).

As said before what was wltrs skulk "rampage" clip doing in your movie? It had nothing in it. It made me feel that "Hell, even I can pwn better than that guy" and same goes for dugis orbital clip. Noob can´t even kill a skulk with a pistol clip and he is in a movie.

That leaves me with a one question: dugi what did you do to jiriki at nsmeeting finland to be in a movie? I have heard many storys a bout poor actors despered to get in a movie and what they have done to get a part.

It's impossible to die to a single fade and very difficult to die to 2 fades with a JP when you have 200 fps
