If someone has 1st person footage, you can easily do that counting. If you're going to with confidence insist that your buddy is legit, you'll have to admit that too. Food for thought.

This is not 100%. Try to record such video with close shooting skulk. You'll kill it faster.
The more that this skulk didn't strafed at all, just ran over floor.

Powerup is the only team that goes for armor2 AND HMG first. ALWAYS
For me it looks like the com set her strategy for exact this one player.

Someone compared simple with evilbot.
But if you watch some VODs of PCWs you see:
- Simple plays intelligent, always ready for the trap, great gamesense.
- Evilbot is just running around "brainless", never saw him going for an intelligent trap.

So his movement and gamesense is div4 but his aim is premium.
This makes no sense, cause as a premium player you should know:
You need the right position at the right time to be successfull.

Oh i actually completely forgot to check what the video was, just did. Well it shows a very good aim, out of context you could say he's just some random shooting a lone skulk with poor movement coming towards him. As i said, you need first person view video for this if you want to as accurate in your judgement as you can.

I just checked whole sequence that lead to that situation, and what still caught my eye in all of it is how the skulks health literally drains as if every bullet hits when he is in line of sight.

@dePARA, comparing evilbot and others who get higher %, you have to count for if shotgun or gl was used, gl usually lowers your acc% while shotgun increases it, as you can see with ns2+ i believe shows you "accuracy without onos hits", as example. Unless you guys want to use the PowerUP! strat of GL/HMG and no sg's, comparing accuracies will have their differences.

About those 100% acc statements: it might just come down to math, one clip has a potential damage output of what, 550 on w0? So it technically IS possible to kill like 1 lerk and 3 skulks for example.

Which reminds me of another funny scene, Gorge and Evilbot-Marine in Waste Recycling. Gorge did some div1-dodging and died, Skulk came to help and died + a lerk almost got rekt. Just the rifle, without switching to pistol.

Poor gorge :(

Big part of perfomance is motivation. If you are motivated to win you can always stay aware and watch for the traps and always do good against solo skulks rushing into ur face. But when u loose motivation and will to win you will do stupid things. I personally think that EvilBot has great marine aim (prem. div lvl) but playing in lower divisions for his whole comp. carieer.

Make some players from top teams play in div2-3 for a few years and they will be called cheaters as well. I think if he was playing in prem div team all this time this thread wouldn't even exist.

I knew some people that have been shooting 30% and above accuracy, killing 3-4 skulks at a time, and then loosing engagements 1v1 to a skulks when they had a shotgun. Are they cheaters as well?

So unless it's impossible to provide some solid proof, I wouldn't call EvilBot a cheater.

As far as i know it's very hard to detect a cheater in ns2 via software, the only way to for EvilBot to clear his name is to stream or record his pov. But as far as i know he is playing on a laptop, so streaming will drop his fps drastically

Oh and, if you have trouble figuring how you need to play against this player, my advices are, flanks, avoid until you have higher numbers, and abuse los as much as you can, with lifeforms just play it safe and don't worry about getting kills, just stay alive until you can have perfect engagements.

Wow, is that how you are playing only against him? You should be playing like this every time, no surprise if you don't and then die to someone with good aim

The difference between that video and the videos showing Evilbot is everything but the shooting.
In this video of locklear you can see he sets himself up for victory. He picks a decently spot away from the door with many ways for him to jump or move while not getting stuck. He does not attempt to bunny hop and simply jumps away when the fade is in range.

If you look at a video clip of Evilbot he regularly is walking through places without being mindful about these things and yet still gets these spectacular lifeform kills. He does not best position himself and he almost always focuses lifeforms sometimes to a detriment as skulks seem to be able to simply walk up to him and kill him.

Now if we took that same scenario of Locklear in that room and you had 3 skulks jump through and attack him I think you would seem Locklear shoot about the same. Where I think you would see Evilbot would choke and die after maybe getting 1 kill.

Yes he's blatantly cheating, he's strafing to correct his aim. How dares he.

I love how people think it's so difficult to recognize if someone is using aimbot. I don't really know what to say to you lot. Grats? :/

I've been slow to respond to this thread because accusations of cheating are not to be taken lightly. The repercussions for players, teams, and the league are significant with every action taken in dealing with such matters. The reputations of players and teams are marred with the accusations whether it turns out to be true or not and the official response creates precedence for how similar situations are dealt with in the future. Cheating in any form is not tolerated and the integrity of the game and fair play are valued and important.

That said, after many public complaints (which were only made known to me a few weeks ago), I and my admins investigated the evidence presented. Overhead first person spec streamed recordings, gaudy ns2stats records, and anecdotal evidence. Overwhelmingly, it pointed to something fishy going on. Yet, I was not satisfied that it was enough to be a cut and dry case. Unknown to most, admins in the NSL can in fact use the first person spectator mode that is disabled by the NSL mod. After video recordings of first person spec had been submitted to me, reviewed by a panel of people I regard to be authorities with third party cheat programs, and a handful of high level players, the conclusion is that Evilbot is cheating and toggling. The videos were also shown to his team, PowerUp!'s, captain who agrees with this conclusion.

Evilbot's punishment will be a ban for the rest of Season 5. He will be allowed to play again after this season has concluded, but only if those matches are recorded and a demo submitted or he streams his POV during the match. Previously, the punishment for cheating was a one year ban, but I weighed this with the state and trend of the community, and believe that in such a small community there can be forgiveness and a change in behavior.

The results of the two matches that were already played this season will be reverted and changed to unplayed. Giving PowerUp! the benefit of the doubt, I expect these matches to be replayed at a later time.

Thank you for your patience as I and my admin team have dealt with this matter.

As for Evilbot's "goodbye comments", do we really need more proof how childish you lot can get? :s

I agree with Zefram giving Powerup! the benefit of the doubt is wisest thing to do but I personally doubt you or other Powerup members were not aware of his cheating.
You mean to tell me you've been playing with a cheater all this time and never thought anything of it??
And also, this thread was not a witch hunt, apparantly there has been reports about him cheating since season4.
Good riddance, and he should be happy that he will have a chance to redeem himself next season.

Well done Zefram and admins ("Q" and "R" :D)
I really hope PowerUp players will be more humble next time, if there is a new issue.
