Below premier aliens have the majority winrate with compmod. It's nice that most pick up games have both teams win once since people are generally less upset. In pubs however, alien winrate is very high, around 90%-100% with new users as the main populace, and there is no team switch.

Are some general tweaks that could be made to compmod that make it more new user friendly and then re released as a pub mod, or would this project be too much to do in the season?

The ENSL has nothing to do with the public games. As i understand, the CDT has a 'healthy' look at the comp. mod and the rework the ENSL and its glorious modders do (all hail mendasp), and have implement things they would like to see into the game itself, such as they have done before.

If you believe that the changes are insufficient, you are in the wrong forums - look towards the official ns2 forum on UWE's own webside, or maybe even contact a CDT member yourself.
