We played a lot with mercs in the last few weeks so it's hard to tell how strong we are right now but Div 3 should be appropriate for us.

That's exactly what we decided against. That way the season would take ages, like s6.
Keep in mind that in the new format the season will take 6-7 weeks. Thats not long. If it shows then that the idea of "micro-seasons" doesn't work out, we still can talk about it. But for now the plan is set.

A lot of those were from us actually reinforcing deadlines for matches because of people being lazy or just being unable to schedule due to RL.

I really don't think people should bother looking/worrying about the top division. The reason chams won last season was because they put in a lot of hard work and had Titus to practice against and we had no one to play as they all gave up. This season, with Titus out of the picture and No.3 team being EU, I can't help but feel like chams will struggle to maintain their abilities because they'll have fewer people to train against just like we did. I'm not trying to discredit chams here, if anything I'm discrediting a d/y win if it happens. If chams pull off the championship this season, I'll have major respect for them!
It's a real shame that the comp scene is so small that it had to combine internationally and even then never have 2 solid teams across the pond to practice against. I believe that chams have the ability to win div 1 again but it's going to be a real struggle for them if d/y can keep up practice this season.
Even if neither chams or d/y get practice, I can't really see a great season coming from div 1. Nevertheless, scalps are up for grabs from seeds 4-6 so they shouldn't write themselves off so easily.

But still they won div3 by crushing Radical in the finals, that was a complete stomp.
They have no changes in roster so I think the only div they can be seeded in is 2.

We expected to have a really tough time if not lose in the finals. Radical were beating teams they'd previously drawn with, who we had also drawn with. Maybe we had a good night or they had a bad night, or both, but it was not what we expected. Radical came top in the group stage.
Tyrwing: I disagree. I flash the majority of my fades. When I do well as fade it's because the rest of the team is doing well. I have some good moments sometimes outside of that, but they're few and far between. I have as many marine rounds where my accuracy is the average as rounds when it's the top by a bit of a margin. The other guys are all good, stawp the haytin D:
We would prefer to play in div 2, we think we'd have more challenging matches, but it doesn't look to me like it's going to be possible. I think a seeding match of either potaTAW or GIEF vs Weld Manners would be a good idea, but I don't think the results would really change much other than WM's seeding.

Firstly, agreed. Radical did play a lousier game than they usually do. And GIEF played very well together in the finals. But that is also something that is nice to see, that the tables can flip.
Secondly, I disagree Prommah. We've PCW'd and in every case you come out with 2-3x pdmg than the rest of the team, that is hard fact you can't debate though. I would never discredit GIEF as a team. I know most of the players and their skill, also am friends with them, they're good on their own(most better than me). But my comment was more tongue in cheek based on previous facts.
With our current change of line-up however I'd assume we would not win against GIEF mainly because of your strong carrying. As everyone knows Ryssk + Tyrer left right before seedings, two players that have been present for 95% of our PCWs and also our duo lerkteam, so yeah we are weaker than we used to be. In fact our first PCW was shit since we're trialing 2 people at the same time + mercing a commander, losing rounds that should never even have been close to losing.
Would GIEF win right now? Probably, maybe even a stomp. Would GIEF stomp us in a month? No we would put up a decent fight I reckon.
Lastly, potataw fits in div 3 with GIEF tbh. And I won't mind playing them at all. It is not their fault that our line-up changed and we are weaker at the moment. We just gotta suck it up and get our new guys up to speed. Also having a seed match against WM might be a good idea but that is Meph's table.

I miss the days when people didn't credit the entirety of GiEFs success to Prommah. Is he our best player? Yes. Does he sometimes carry with ridiculous margins? Yes. Did GIEF lose all their matches before Prommah joined and sprinkled his magic carry dust all over us? No. We did not. GIEF work as a team. Will always work as a team. If you ever wonder why Prommah sometimes can go 40-5 in a PCW, just watch a stream. Prommah plays his absolute best when he can derp and have fun -> GIEF is a surrounding where he can derp and have fun. IE: Success (yes. I am aware that Prommah will do well in basically any team because his individual skill is really high).
The most important thing has been said though: GIEF as a team would love to play in div2 for the chance of playing higher skilled teams and develop. We won div3 last season and it is therefore the "right" thing to do. As has been pointed out, it's probably not possible. The potential change that could happen is not really a change at all for div3. But I don't think we'll stomp by any means, if RadicaL gets their roster together it could be some great games between all teams! (Really have no clue about HMS and FB, so can't really predict anything there)
We are more than happy to play a seeding match, if that's on the table.
Aaaand to end it with: I know that you're a good guy, Tyrwing. Dw. I'm not directing the above paragraph solely to you, but you're the latest in the very long line that contributes GIEFs success to Prommah. Which is absolute bullshit and disrespectful AF to the rest of my team. And I'm unable to stfu :>

tbh the only team I do not know how strong they are is radical. they lost some players to aegis and I haven't seen them playing PCWs at all. Funny Bubblers won agaisnt us 3 -1 this week and HMS... we played 2-1 in a PCW with an average of 25-30 minutes per game I think so we were too tired to play the 4th round^^
@prommah: your fade is not the best IIRC but your skulk is evil and so is your marine aim
@GIEF: even though prommah is having an impact on your success I'd say your main reason for being good is that you guys flow well together and have shitloads of fun with it. If you have fun and are happy you'll play good automatically

I love all the enthusiasm you guys have for this season. It's still going to be rocky here and there like every season is. Season 4 was glorious, most fun ive ever had was during that season. Teams to scrim nearly every day. I would hope to see that again during this season but I'm not holding my breath.
If you want you and your team to improve and move up the divisions, you need to play higher skilled teams. Scrim d/y or chams. Those two teams will hardly ever get practice just because people are scared of losing.
So this message goes out to every other team that thinks they are hot shit. Scrim chams or d/y and lets see how well you fair against teams that actually know what they are doing.

Scrimming Chams and d/y will be easier once dragon has tested if the handicap mod works. which can make it easier for div 1 teams to pcw against div 3 teams. to practice tactics/positioning etc

Basically a player can set his damage somewhere between 10% and 100%, can allow really high skilled players to not completely destroy lower skilled players. (will be used as marine only probably) Its completely optional and can be changed during rounds. Just to allow you to play div 3 teams without roflstomping them due to aim, for example.

Please adjust the mod to let me have 110% damage.
Id prefer if the mod allowed players to change it per-spawn/evolve not at any point, which is how I currently understand it. While I doubt anyone who uses it would actually toggle it during an engagement, changing it mid-life would still be silly.
