Okay, Me and Mephilles came up with an idea a while ago that we hope will bolster the population of the NS2 community as a whole. That idea was to do a Twitch Invitational Tournament (affectionately shortened to "TIT").
The idea is simple, we want to get 4 - 8 teams together made up entirely of twitch streamers (or as close as possible). that will then, over the course of 1 day, play a tournament for fun.
This idea while simple in premise requires a LOT of work... and our target date is the first weekend in December.
This thread is not going to go into detail with the ins and outs of what is needed etc, its just to bring it to all of you guys' attention.... and ask for your help. Whether you want to help out only on the day of the event, or you want to provide links to your favorite streamers etc you are all welcome.
Examples of what we need are:
People with experience organizing events
Referees (lots and lots of them... you'll find out why)
Commanders that are willing to lead teams
People able and willing to potentially teach streamers how to play ns2 well
Many more jobs are available.
If this event goes well we could see a huge increase in players and I think it goes without saying, me and meph would love to see more TITs in the future.

It's a good idea but I don't really understand how you're going to get 4-8 high profile streamers let alone 1 play this game at the same time. Is this even remotely feasible?

Polaris, a video game content creator (similar to Machinima), is doing their civil war and I believe they're doing one of their events on NS2. I think this because you because you search Polaris Civil War in the server browser in NS2 and a dedicated server for it will appear. Although this might not be a streamed event. it definitely WILL bring people to the game IF they do decide to play NS2 as one of their games. Because all the people partaking in the event have huge fanbases. for a better understanding of what this civil war thing is here is a link to the youtube playlist.

If you haven't already, you really should promote your idea on NS2 Reddit and UWE forums or any place that might be noticeable by players. I'm pretty sure the NSL would be up to help you getting what you need too.
I like the concept.

if you can actually get any of those streamers, I would suggest making sure they stream the training sessions with their coach so you expose as many people as possible to that valuable information.
that's always a big topic in those "why does this game fail?" threads, lack of methods to share important nonintuitive information to new players before they quit the next hour.

Quick update, The invitation letter itself has been made and passed on to UWE to send out to 60 twitch streamers via the official means (Thanks to Warforce17 and Tudy for helping out with making that) Hopefully I should hear back and get a good number of them saying they would like to take part.
Pending responses, Myself and a few others will be setting up the more in depth plans for the event, we hope to see at least 4 teams take part in the knockout styled tournament.
Referees, Commanders, Planners and coaches are still needed, if anyone wants to volunteer send me an email ( kashnsl@yahoo.co.uk ) containing your ENSL name and what post you would like to take and i'll get back to you.

Due to the changes going on in UWE recently, the tournament needed to be delayed, invitations will be going out in the next week and the date set for the tournament to happen will hopefully be the 30th of January 2016.
