https://www.rechat.org/

came out a while ago and it allows you to see the chat in a VOD as if it was live.

it only works if there's at least one viewer watching the stream LIVE with the plugin, though. so if I watched Vindaloos twitch stream of the div7 finals live, that means the plugin recorded the chat through my web browser and you could watch the VOD w/ the chat with ReChat. in short, the more people with this plugin, the more likely we are to be able to see twitch chat in VODs.

i bring this up because twitch chat is #1 and I didn't get to see it for the first half of the finals. oh and because I noticed wob using it during his match review which reminded me to make this thread.

Is there a way the streamer himself can work the plugin, without watching his own stream as well?

Well, I don't know exactly how it works. Maaaybe you can open your own streams page and pause the video? I don't know how it gathers the timestamps for each chat message, so I don't know if that will work.

It works exactly like that Turts, you can have your page open and pause the video as it only tracks the chat itself, not the vid.

You can also use twitch popout chat in the options I assume. So you don't have to have a full browser open.
