Hi, im Co-leader of cystitus, formerly one of the most active low-mid skilled ns2 teams.
We came third in div 2 season 1 - thanks to a no-show and the game being horribly biased to aliens in 6v6.

After the season we lost 3/4 of our best and most active members. We continued to scrim nearly every night and we started to recruit new players from public and the ns2 forums. It became quickly apparent that our fellow clans in div 2 were improving at a rate far greater than us. (trying to train public players, fuck us right?)

So we started scrimming low skilled div 3 teams, and we were struggling to make a draw. This didn't bother us as we were looking forward to a brilliant new season with like-wise skilled clans.
But guess what? we were seeded 25th out of around 50 teams and but in div 2 group A.
Not a problem, i said to my self, ill chat to the friendly ensl admins. If i show them the ns2stats for the past 35+ games against div 3/2 teams with our full ensl roster they can see we havnt won a game and im sure they will sort this out.

"are you high?" "lol not a chance" "ive told you, we dont take scim games into account. Now shut up and let me go to bed" "im not putting you in div 3 so you can win all of your games you idiot"

And guess what? we. are. in. the. wrong. div. Like i said on more than 7 separate occasions to multiple admins. But it is too late now, we are starting a super hexagon clan. We havnt scrimmed in 2 weeks. And we probably wont until this season is over.

Ns2 is a tiny community. A more dynamic approach to seeding in season 3 please. Or you will kill more low skilled clans which ns2 really needs to survive imo.

I think it was clear to some of the lower skilled teams that some of the teams here we out of place. I guess most of the admins here play for top teams, so they have the knowledge on perhaps who the top teams are.

I was surprised when I saw Cystitis ranking also (no offence) and for me it was clear that TWAT being seeded above hard.day was clearly wrong.

I guess its pretty hard for admins to seed teams that they haven't played, or have played once 4 weeks ago etc. They have to rank them somehow, I think that this season will help a lot with the seeding. But it will still not be completely clear on skill level etc. We played Original Gorges last night (a div 3 team) and IMO they are probably a div 1 team, so if they ended up being a low div 2 team then they are going to stomp some more!

I'm a proponent of a formal between season seeding system for exactly this reason. Have each new team scheduled to play at least two teams from different divisions such that they properly sort themselves in the seeding list. It would greatly help in this situation by pushing unduly high ranked teams down and unduly low ranked teams up.

Well skyice,

i guess it is obviously a little bit your fault if you go and ask Jimmis .. he will never ever do anything helpful .. whatsoever !

For the rest i do agree .. if you can prove that you obviously do not belong where you are seeded it shopuld be changed .. no matter if up or down ..

AND IF YOU HAVE TO ADMINS: Take 2 hours to watch one of their games to see if a change is a smart thing !

Greets !

Which admin did you talk to?
Last time I've checked, we were OK to move teams up and down in div's if they don't agree on manual seeding. Some proof/tests would be required though, yeah.
