Well, I for one don't want old alien vision back. I could see some changes to the new one. But the old one just made everything much easier for aliens. I think it was a step in the right direction although there might have been different reasons (showing off biodome). So it's not everyone, I don't want old alien vision back. I like how it makes it harder for alines, you must parasite to make sure you get at least some visual hint when chaos ensues. New alien vision works in dark areas, so keep it like that.

well you would still have your alien vision but for everyone else that gets eyecancer from it can just change it to the good one ;)


also well they dont glow trough walls ^^ so its just a visual thing and you see marines anway they are "outlined" kinda..

i mean i seem them even good on my small screen so i dont rly get your argument sorry...


to the old only outline marine vision what was freaking much better (had ns1 style)

Let me put it like this: see green bite, anything else stop. High contrast for easier recognition. Outlines now are jokes compared to it and that's how i like it. It's now harder for aliens! Also you are not suppose to use the new alien vision all the time, use it in dark, then it's much better - no eye cancer.

Couldn't marines get special vision or something then? It could be blue yellow so it's different from alien vision.

This seems similar to some players asking for less PvE, saying whips are shit. But I actually don't mind it at all, it's just different outlook. It's not quake and it's not ns1. I want the experience to be as similar to pubs, vanilla, as possible. Alien vision would change a lot.

Aliens should have the visual advantage because they are relatively much faster and are of course the melee race. In an ideal world yes, neither team would suffer from visual obfuscation, but that would require major reworking of the mechanics or maps or something to address the balance.

Anyway if I were you Mendasp, I would take the initiative and implement what you think is sensible. At worst you will force someone with authority to rule on it if there is a controversy. I would suggest asking the captains of the NS2WC finals teams if they have a problem with it.

Oh and I do think the parasite thing is pretty reasonable too by the way!

No need to argue anymore, it's allowed for S4. Just updated the mod.

28/02/2014 (Build 263):
Fixed lifeform stat tracking (accuracy without Onos hits)
Enabled Alien Vision switcher (chud_av). Switches between default and Huze's Old Alien Vision.
Added marine upgrade level toggle (chud_uplvl). This enables or disables the weapon/armor level icons on the side of the marine HUD.
Added classic ammo counter toggle (chud_classicammo). Adds an ammo counter on the lower right, like in classic FPS games. Based on Dragon's NS2c ammo display code.
