So with season 9 paused, we contacted the PDT again to try and push more changes from comp mod into the vanilla game so we can phase out of comp mod, we handed a list to rantology with some essentials, things like exo, grenades and res costs were excluded because of the coming changes to res and the changed exo and grenades.

Phasegate delay isn't in there due to the troubles it would cause with larger teams.

PLEASE MIND that not all of the requested features will be added, and wont all be in the first update(most likely). Things like phantom, eggs, gorge bhop etc have to be heavily discussed.

They are working on their own one, Ghoul is testing around with some stuff but nothing is set in stone about it. There are no further details about it 'yet'.

one of the main concept of the hmg was to have an early weapon against onos.

(cause exo was so expensive never used immobile all this whine we had in the past)

so if their hmg is somewhat similar its alright.
(low str dmg high player dmg long reloadtime)


I definitely wonder what exactly it is that they dont like about the hmg that they have to make their own one.

well, the HMG we have is fine for 6 vs 6... but they have to take into account that 12 vs 12 happens... and 4+ HMGs would absolutely melt pretty much any lifeform... so yeah, it would likely need to be tweaked.

Not sure if this is so necessary considering the fact that it looks like the comp scene is withering away. Just let it die and wait for ns3.

comp scene won't die... we will just see a lot more people willing to take part... especially now that we are stepping away from the compmod issue. using vanilla for competitive play means that people don't need to learn new costs/skills/tech routes etc.

sure, its going to be low on numbers for a while... but I don't think its totally dead.

Okay I messaged Ghoul a little bit, there are some ideas floating around and this is one of them.
"Most likely will the machine gun become a weapon with much weight, wide spread, 100+ magazines, maybe slightly faster fire rate than rifle, and heavy damage.
Basically a very defensive but slow weapon"
"Like the M249 from CS, but focus will be close combat"

This will most likely not be in the coming update with the other changes since its still in its very early stages, but they are discussing the possibilities of a new machine gun type weapon.

No new people want to play comp 6v6 , they would rather pub with their health bars and silence/phantom oh while i am on point are you going to change the shade layout for the comp play ?

A suggestion I already brought up in the other thread: Stop merging comp mod with vanilla and make an official comp Balance mod instead. I think already too much damage have been done in the last patches and more to come what makes vanilla a very very Bad choice for comp play. A comp mod was already needed before, and it is much more needed now.
