Remove Docking2 from the NSL map rotation.

It just sucks.

BUT because I'm not as dumb as other people I'm actually gonna explain why:
The most dumbed down way to say WHY is basically - ITS A CUSTOM MAP THAT HAS NEVER BEEN TESTED/PLAYED BY THE NSL. Now you're gonna say "But wait, Docking 2 was in the rotation before!", well, yea, BUT like 80% of the rooms and the layout got changed again (I can't say the map was bad before season 9). I actually have played its new iteration, and I really don't like it. But whether we like it or not doesn't really matter, what matters is other stuff- things like big ass fkn rooms with way too many hiding spots, exploits, insanely strong pve placement, insanely strong gorge tunnel placement, insanely long hallways, bugs, bugs and bugs (after all the map hasn't had any reliable testing AT ALL). I personally haven't tried to look for any good playstyles or OP stuff on the map, because I still can't believe we actually have to play a completely new map (AND THERE HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN ANY CUSTOM MAP CUPS TO DECIDE IF OTHER MAPS WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER), BUT I think there can be a great number of OP shit found on the map, simply because it's so insanely, unnecessarily HUGE.

I did talk to tico about this before, but all he had to say is that he likes having custom maps in the rotation... well good thing for you if you don't have to play the map that nobody ever playtested before it was put into the season.

I wonder what the rest of the community thinks about docking 2 (especially in the light of people having a massive shit on descent again); whether or not people agree with me; AND if a big part of the people agree with me, if could we have a look into the situation and maybe even allow teams to agree on playing another map in the matches that they'd have to play docking 2 on.

But i do agree, the docking2 shouldnt be in this season, somehow im sick of mixing both playtesting and competitive games during the seasons.

I dont know, but i think i saw a picture where Mephilles said he's going to remove if it was 2-3 rooms, but it wont be changed during this season, but AFTER the season.

So, if the map isnt completed, why should it be in the map pool?

I think the majority of the community has voiced their concerns about docking2 multiple times. Having to revoice it over and over again shouldn't be necessary when the default is that it should not be in the mappool.

Okay, here is my opinion... because I know you're all dying to hear it :P

Bowwy... I agree.

I've spoken with meph many times on this subject and I'm torn. I like docking2 (AKA. Mesh) as a map and would like to see it succeed and become a liked and regularly played map... but seasons are not a playtesting ground. Ayumi is on gathers so people can test them, Mesh should be treated in the same way.

From a mapper perspective, I know how hard it is to find people willing to test maps, so having mesh in the season rotation is the best way to get it tested... but that does not justify having it in the rotation when it is clearly unfinished.

TL:DR -

I like Mesh as a map and would like to see it become the map it has the potential to be, but I don't believe it should be in the seasonal rotation. (sorry meph)

I completely agree with you guys btw^^

As a competitive player I myself don't want to play the current version of mesh (in the season) because I am fully aware of some horrible rooms and the mapsize in general.

Funnily enough people complain about the map changing, but the reason I change it so often is because I see the problems on the map thanks to the competitive players playing it.

So as a competitive player I see why this map should be removed from the season, but as the mapper of the map I am pretty sure that once the map is out of season it will never be touched again by most people here due to the bad experience you had with the map. So I could add the changes I planned for after season 10 but the map would be stuck in that place.

The only places I know this map gets played is TGNS and SCC and tbh I don't think any of those sources can provide me with the informations this map needs.

It could remain in the gather pool but tbh I don't see ayumi getting played at all so this wouldn't help aswell.

It's been played in a few pcws as a tryout map, but it doesnt get to be played often cause main reason, it's just way to big the map itself.. it becomes a map where.. i dunno, get bored? Maybe wrong choice of words.. But the idea i saw where you were gonna remove 2-3 rooms seemed like a great idea to start with, then we can talk more about the map! :)

because the competitive players told you to completely change the entire layout of the map and remove 80% of the rooms that were already in the map (instead of, you know, changing the rooms a bit)
come on you dont seriously believe that yourself do you
you just wanted to work on a new map and instead of starting a new one you destroyed old docking 2, which was, as i said before, not bad at all

erm... yes they did XD (ask absurdon :P)

well the main reason for redoing alot of rooms was my intention to move AWAY from the docking theme and that only works with completely new rooms (layout stayed similar to the season 9 layout btw)

And there are still some rooms I intend to redo. Like Isolation, Generators and Departures (well Generators will mostly get different textures, pros and lights but I intend to keep the room layout quite simialr.

Isolation is just a plain failure and for departures I didn't rly made up my mind.

Also personally I am not sure what you like so much about the old docking2 (not sure which version you are referring to btw) since it had MAJOR balance issues as I have seen by competitive people playing the map

+1, south side is basically marine heaven with very obvious spots skulks and can ambush and thats about it, north side is basically a cluster
