As mentioned in topic - you can ask any questions regarding NS2 General and Season Rules.

E.g.
Please explain what you mean by general rule 2 - 2.b - 5.
And so on.

I or any other admin should respond to your concerns on that topic.

Rule 2.e:

In what range of days has a match to happen? What is the ENSL week? Is it "Sunday to Saturday" or "Monday to Sunday"?

Have a question regarding mercs. Does the mercing player need to be signed up on the ENSL website to be allowed to play? Or can he play as long as the admin/other team agree?

Would love to see a link posted to the ENSL staff page (http://www.ensl.org/about/staff) in the rules somewhere. Its a nice way to see who the current admins/referees are.

Also, it'd be nice if that page distinguished between NA/EU/AUS admins/referees.

Can you update "Server consistency checking" 4.6? This consistency is blocking a lot of useless ui\.DDS files..
My cleaned HUD is full of shit again

7.3 Demo rule should be changed like this: All players "should"(like fana said!) to record their matches *if teams will agree with this AND not by swalk :p*, and keep the demo for the entire season.

Demo recording could cause more stuttering(like micro lag), maybe fps drops and even more if you use single hard drive or low performance computer.. Alt tabbing will break DEMOS.. you need demos because you could do frag movie? I think it's players choice not your's swalk.
I don't think that cheating will be problem right now

The ConsistencyConfig.json file you have doesn't work, you need to add a "{" at the start.

Also, you have omitted "*.fx" so people can use the Minimal Alien Vision mod from the workshop, is this intended?

Finally, having "*.material" being checked means that ns2_docking and ns2_refinery will not work unless you also add

"materials/descent/descent_wall_02_a.material", "materials/descent/descent_floor_01_a.material"

to the ignore list. I know these maps aren't included in the league but it is annoying for people to have to change the config file when they want the server for public use.

What an ignorant comment. I don't make these decisions singlehandedly.
Demo recordings are not forced because of the frag highlights I announced. It's there for us to have a chance of proving anything if we have accusations of specific players.
And it is not going to be changed as of now.
It doesn't matter if you think cheating wont be a problem, cheating is fairly easy in NS2, and we have to do whatever we can to prevent it. End of story.

These are some good points! Alien Vision changes are not allowed, and I will have both of these fixes updated in the rules. Thank you.

Thanks for quick response swalk, but there is still no "{" at the beginning so if people copy-paste that it will not work unless they put { manually. And when I say not work I mean nothing will be checked at all because the server can't read the file without "{" as the first character. Cheers.

Sorry ignorant? You don't do ignorant decisions?! :D It was your call that we were forced to use recording while some of our players had problems with it and Referee told that ("Swalk said NO"), sorry.. We all agreeded that there isn't any need to demo recording (HBZ & Sauna)

Yeah its good to prevent the cheating, but why do you need demo recording when you know the opponent team? Maybe it would be easy to cheat but it would be pretty obvious
Demo recording is a good idea, but not right now when there is problems. Teams should decide it if they aren't fully sure about the opponent team.

The ui\ .dds files.. So do you know Knifegaming or NLpack from ns1 (you should know)? They were cosmetic changes which helped to clean THE HUD and you already ignored exosuit dds files.. Many of the .dds files are cosmetic and could change like this:

Well I am the league admin, so apparently I have to tell referees to tell teams to obey the rules of the league.
That have nothing to do with ignorance, it is simply a matter of keeping a system.

It doesn't really matter if you think you know the opposing team, the possibility of cheating, in one form or another, is still there.
Far from all cheats are obvious, and only a few can be proven without 1st person perspective.

Two of the division admins did a mistake in week 1 by bending the rules in another game on this exact rule. We made it clear with them that they are not in a position to change the rules.

You do realize that it is idiotic to force two teams to make demos if they agree not to make them.

It is their problem if one of the teams complains afterwards THEIR FAULT ! .. if they trust each other let em do it without a condom . aeh i mean demos and if someone screws the other one over .. well not your prob .. just make it clear if they decide to not have Demos there is no way to have any kind of replay ban or whatever because of whatever might have happened because noone can prove it.

AND DONE !

You know what's even more stupid? Trying to make them do it with an EXPERIMENTAL recording system which is NEVER INTENDED TO USE IN REAL GAMEPLAY.

*cautiously steps around flame pit*

Question: If teams end the season with same number of points, what will be the tie-breaker? Most wins? Fewest losses? Decider match? Coin flip?
