what is usenet?

Usenet is a network for which you have to pay a monthly fee to get in.
The network includes mainly warez like Movies, mp3s and other stuff.
The difference to torrents is that it has a secure connection SSL and the provider dont create logfiles.
That makes the Network a lot of more secure so that you can't be caught that easy by online detectives like they are active in germany.

I've received a warning that this might have a home made trojan in it, which wouldn't get picked up by virus scans. I don't know if this is true, however.

If anyone who has any knowledge about this stuff could confirm/deny that would be great.
