What is Slack?
It is a messaging app that makes it easy to communicate with people. It works along the same lines as mIRC or Discord. You can download a desktop and mobile app here

How do I get invited to the ENSL Slack domain?
You need to have an email to be invited. It's a pretty simple process, but you will need to private message me or Yaluzan your email address to be added. You will get a link in your email once the invitation has been sent and then you're all set.

---------------------------------------------------

So, one other thing I'd suggest is that your team creates its own Slack domain as well. We wont give each team their own channel on the ENSL domain, but its completely free for your team to create your own domain. You can run Slack and be connected to several different domains so it's very convenient too. My team is already doing this and it makes it a lot easier for setting up scrims/matches/etc.

I'd like to get at least two people from each team in the channel so we have a place where we can set up PCWs easier.

Slack is also the easiest way to reach admins if they are not on your friends list or just not online on steam:)

Can you run a discord as well so that we can access NSL and UWE from the same platform?

I agree with rek, i want a discord

Having a discord would mean youd only have to manage program because you wouldnt need a ts and slack anymore. Seeing as how discord does both. And does them well.

The only problem with discord atm is the fact that it does not recursive channels YET. That should be coming soon.

We know that UWE prefers using Discord. For our needs, Slack does the same job and we've been using Slack since before Discord was released. We already have our own bit of infrastructure built around using Slack so its would be a bit counter-productive to just abandon everything, set up new accounts, permissions, etc. just to switch to an identical software.

We understand Discord offers things that Slack does not, and vice-versa. The differences are negligible in my opinion. We talked about potentially switching to Discord a few weeks back, but the we decided it wouldn't be worth the effort.

I don't know if Discord has changed their privacy policies recently either but I remember it being a bit shifty, whereas AFAIK Slack is more secure. In any case, we don't plan to switch over to Discord at the moment.
