The sane thing to do would be to play until a team is two rounds ahead, like tennis. Instead of just 70% of the time giving the victory to one side.

So we could play this for 3 more hours? :P

Imagine if the finals of this, live in London, comes down to a coin toss?

I hope it does tbh. So the people who organise this mess can sort it out.

This is purely anecdotal and not a comment on balance or anything else related to the format of competition, but if you watched today's match with Godar vs Saunamen... it appears that if you have a strong marine game, at the high levels of play, it's definitely possible for marines to take games from aliens. 5-2 marine wins in that match.

That said, we may consider another format other than coinflips in the future.

Thats the big problem thats everyone getting the feedback from the high lvl pro gamer. Godar and Sauna have a aim thats not typical for 90 % of the other teams. You need a high lvl aim and movement combo that have maybe 10 % of all the teams. And yes then you need the "tactics" but cmon... Getting fast Upgrade or fast PG isnt the greatest secret from NS. Getting the feedback more from this teams and looking more of this scores makes the game more boring, thats all. And yes miau and duplex had really shitty marine gameplay on this day and i agree with duplex that coinflip had won this but both would lose against snails (we have if you remember :P)

Yes I agree we would have lost against snails but I still think it should go back to the NS1 format of having to be 2 rounds ahead.

Even the Saunamen Vs Godar game was unbalanced in my opinion, because if they had played 1 more round, Godar as aliens on summit? It would be 4-4.

With an uneven number of rounds, it will always be unfair.

This is not the place to discuss the coinflip.
The tournament had the coinflip in the rules for a long time, we knew this entering the competition and we respect that miau progressed through the round.
Naturally we are upset about the result because we lost, nevertheless, the right team went through according the rules.
If anyone wants to discuss the rules (and even IMPLEMENTATION of the rules) using this game or any other game to support their argument please use the forums.

I just want to finish by saying that we enjoyed all the rounds and actually had more fun in those games than in a fair while.
