So we have a small team coming together that looks capable of making changes to the existing website source code, and update a lot of things and potentially make changes.

We have already integrated a google calendar with match times and stream links into the homepage, and csm has updated the logo. There are a bunch of small bug fixes he's taken care of here and there, and we wanted to open a discussion to the community for things they'd like to see on the website.

We're thinking over time, we have a complete overhaul of the site, and we want to get some ideas of new features we want to see.

Some ideas already tossed around is automated scheduling on the match pages, where teams enter a time and date, and submit it, and it will ask the other team to confirm. Once confirmed, we'd have it automatically added to the calendar. Then Refs can sign up automatically as well. Also casters. Casters would do the same, and their stream links would automatically be updated on he calendar.

First thing i like the new Match schedule a lot but

now you have 2 boxes with similar content
the new "Match Schedule"
and the old Highlights Box with "Upcoming matches" (that is anyway only showing default times)

so cut the "Upcoming matches" boxpart out and try to put the rest of the box more together with the "Match Schedule"

what else you could integrate the automatic match scheduling sounds great but some kind of PCW search function might be even better to plan pcws or search them instantly^^

I agree with Mega, merge "Highlights" and "Match Schedule", so we get more information in one box and less wasted space. Referee/casters, stream link, predictions, scheduled time(if scheduled yet) and whatever else you think is applicable. Really nice to see the NSL logo on the site, fits like a glove.

When i played RO2ladder there was a quite nice function. For arranging PCW:s, just clicked on the team name, and you could arrange a pcw with date and time. By that you wouldnt have to add all the people trough steam just to arrange something :)

And ofc, the other team had a button to accept or decline :)

Maybe something NSL could integrate?

PCW finder feature would be really nice. Could you describe more of how you'd expect it to work? Let me know how other games/leagues have implemented such a feature so I can brainstorm on how to best make it work for the NSL.

I am thinking perhaps team leaders can add to a calendar days and times in which they would like to have a PCW. Other teams can "request" to play the host team at that time, and if accepted, teams are notified.

We would like to integrate the site with Steam, so it's super easy to send messages to others without first looking up their steam name and adding them on friends. I have yet to do much investigation to determine how possible this is.

Was thinking like it was in ROLadder, that when you press on a team-->button "Arrange PCW"--->Schedule and click date + time..

After that, maybe someone as the teamleader gets an Email or on ENSL that there's been a "PCW Request"

So basicly almost the same as you said :)

I see, a way to suggest PCW's directly to a known team or opponent. I think some sort of combination of what I suggested and this would be a good tool. Now I must scope it to determine how much it would cost to implement.

Also liking the new Highlights thing. And agree that having some kind of match system could be helpful.

One thing I do really want, and don't think is too much trouble(??) is having the gather system show you when the last gather started. I know the gather chatbox has timestamps, maybe it would be possible to have the gather itself post messages like "[Gather]Pick Captains"/[Gather]Teams ready" or something? Could be nice on late nights to see when people started and know how long one would possibly wait for another one to start.

If you decide on a match system, I think you should also do it "realtime", not just scheduled matches. So you click a button to add your team to a "list of searching teams", then you get to view the list and contact the teams. Maybe a request/confirmation thing that then removes the teams from the list if both accept.
I don't think scheduled matches would be used as much as "realtime" searches.

You could maybe use the current "Highlights" box if you merge the current one with "Match Schedule".

Please people, keep this on topic. From what I gather, it seems we are missing a feature to the website that makes the gorge porn and midget porn easy to find/easily accessible. This will surely be rectified in future updates.

How do you guys feel about "Highlights" and how they pertain to spoilers? Currently we have a highlights box on the home page, which shows scores of games recently completed. I've heard of discussions where spoilers might ruin the fun, and I think I have a solution that could potentially make everyone happy:

We remove any sort of highlight or spoiler feature from all pages other than a specifically created "Highlights" page, where this page would have a widget that acts as a forum post "spoiler" does, in which you must click on it to see the contents. When cliked, it shows all the scores of recent matches. This highlights page also shows links to replays of past games as well as potentially user posted highlight edits or "top 10" kind of shit or w/e.

sounds cool but still put the "Match Schedule" and "Highlights" box somehow together ^^

maybe make the "Match Schedule" or "Highlights" (or however the puttogehterboxtitle will be called) clickable that leads to your page with the results ect list of all recent played matches (with that spoiler thing so it dosnt happen on accident)

not rly important... But http://www.ensl.org/users having a searching function without case sensitive could be...cool.. When I'm looking for someone I don't really like to try with capital letter on first letter of his pseudo and without capital letter... :(

That's actually something I am trying to work on right now. Funny thing is if I do a search on my test environment, it works without case sensitivity and even regex type results. But it doesn't work on the actual site. Haven't changed a single line of code x.x

Just make it so you can see the matchups and links and then only have the score be hidden by a spoiler feature.

Not sure if it's actually related to the actual website, more of a forum hassle: One thing I've noticed when updating my map thread, which I want to format some times with BOLD letters for example. It is a bit of pain when there is no menu to add these kinds of things, and I have to type in for example ",,[img][/img]" manually. Any chance of fixing that?

That's not an outrageous request.

A couple of fixes to look forward to:
-Searching users now works properly. It no longer cares about case sensitivity and will also allow you to search by steam id.
-You can now search the "Teams" list
-Fix for forum post "reply" bug taking you to white screen, making you think your post did not happen.

It's cause the fixes aren't live yet. That's why it says "look forward to" :p

Some additional feedback I got yesterday - posting here so I don't lose it:

-Do SOMETHING with the music that plays when gather is ready. It's ear bleeding
-Edit/Fix the gather map list
-Edit/Fix the gather SERVER list

a cool thing would be a place to "sign up" for Mercing, so if your free for a night and want to merc, just sign up there and anyone can add you then to merc. Would make the search much easyer for Teams, and players that currently dont have a team or whatever.
