+1 merc sign ups! Like a ringer box or available for 1 hr like back in the old mIRC counter-strike days.

Hold your horses guys. This is a good idea but it's missing something.

We need to make sure you can't get a merc that's above your level.

It should take into account how well you played in NS1, quake 3 and probably doom 1 as well.

Interesting idea. I'll put it on the back-burner. I am imagining a list displayed that says "Currently available mercs" and anyone can add themselves to the list or remove. If a player adds, they are automatically removed after 2 hours.

Can't we jsut be social and use steam friends?

Yes Simba, you`re right, why we can`t use this web if we can use NSL steam group.....

Nice idea badhabit, +1. It would make easy to get a merc, and could also make it possible that 6 mercs could merge to make a mix and face any other team :P

We would like to add something like that indeed, to gather every matches already played. But atm, you can find them on the forum "NS2 Discussion" for previous weeks.

i just had an other idea about the gathers if your not adding a timestamp when somebody joined the gather

add some kind of dead men switch where you have to click every 15 minutes otherwise you count as being afk.. or get removed from the gather automatical again (maybe even mark as afk first and then after 30 minutes remove)

because banning people for forgetting to log out could work but it can still kill gathers to people sometimes not have enough motivation to regather or cannot find mercs

Just remove them when they close the page/tab. I don't know why it allows you to stay in the gather if you close the damn page!

This wont deal with people who leave it open and go afk, but still it seems bizarre this doesn't exist.

I think it is clearly possible to add timestamp. 15 minutes seems to be legit. When a player left the page since around 15 minutes, he's kicked from the gather. A such system already exists on the NS2-Fr.com gather, so I can easily imagine to make the same for ours.

Anyway, at the moment, some changes are already ready to be pushed for the next update. For example, Logo relinks to the home page. You can search a team directly with a search tool. Same thing to find an user, + you can use SteamID to find him, you can also use few letters to find users with these letters.

On the forum, when you post a reply on a topic (no matter if you use Fast Reply), there's no white page anymore.

What's more, we are able now to delete servers on gather page. That will be very cool to clean up the list.

The user profile had been changed, you'll see later. There's a lot of useless information one can set that is likely never used, nor pertinent to the NSL. All these informations had been deleted.

+ few other bugs solved.

What kind of information?
As far as I recall from being an admin, you are not supposed to delete any kind of history from the site.

History? I wrote "User profile".

Informations like IRC, MSN, ICQ, WEB. Favorite, Settings & Computer sections are deleted. That's all. The rest is still in use.

Anyway, ervery changes on the website have all the admins agreement, even if nothing is definitive.

Technically not deleted. It exists in the database, but there is no way to see it/ edit it/ add it/delete it. It's the stuff like your computer specs, your hair color, are you an organ donor, etc that is removed.

Great. No need to spell it out to me, I know how code works :P
It just wasn't clear what had been deleted. I kind of like the Favorites and Settings & Computer sections for one.

It should theoretically be fixed whenever the CSS changes I'm suggesting get pushed to the live site. Hopefully soon.

A new update has been pushed onto the website. Check out the fixes & changes list below:

- Fixed the forum's issue that didn't show up the latest post at the top of the forums.
- Removed some outdated informations from the gather page. (Teamspeak password)
- Fixed the Steam ID that linked to an incorrect account. Now, it automatically relinks toward the Steam profile account of the player you're looking for.
- Fixed the teams bug that brought you to an error page if you were not logged in.
- Fixed the rules (under Contests) that linked to an error page.
- Changed the Calendar widget to not appear if there's no scheduled matches.
- Added another theme for the website. Go to Account (near your nickname), then to Locals, and Layout.

As usual, feel free to report any bug you find out. Every features you propose are greatly appreciated.

Nice work guys.

When is the redo of the gather page is gonna happen with lifeform selection and mercs to sign up there like i suggested here:
http://www.ensl.org/topics/1165#post_14762
(would be cool)

Simba says

Some ideas already tossed around is automated scheduling on the match pages, where teams enter a time and date, and submit it, and it will ask the other team to confirm. Once confirmed, we'd have it automatically added to the calendar. Then Refs can sign up automatically as well. Also casters. Casters would do the same, and their stream links would automatically be updated on he calendar.

when can we expect this ?
i rly like to have some kind of pcw search function on the website.
(maybe just a irc applet @website that shows the last 20 lines no matter when you load the website)

We're already aware of those but this is not possible for now. Fixes and the shortest changes can be made, like the previous update. No idea when it's gonna be better or something though, it only requires time from the people that are improving the website, but yeah, don't worry, we got it.

Please remove that viewport meta tag from the head, because the site looks absolutely shit on mobile devices.
