Good update eddy, you added HBZ so your divisions look good. As long as Lucky Chams is ok with it, you guys can go into S9 as the number 1 seed in the game. You've earned it.

I prefer to be an underdog going into the season. This way it's more exciting when we 4-0 them :)

Hello friends,

@yuluzan @simba @anyone else in charge of seedings/placements or who is making their personal lists:

I know that some of you might see just the tip as an unknown because 1. We are new team this season and 2. The fact that we are on the other side of the planet, but here are some facts that should help you in your decision making.

1. Members of this team made the quarter finals for the WC
2. All of this team are composed of players from the top 2 teams in aus during season 4 of our domestic League (and from the previous 3 seasons as well)
3. Two/Thirds of this team is composed of members from Shaft who made the semi finals of season 6 are were likely to contest Titus for a spot in the finals had Shaft not lost interest and dropped out.
4. We have an awful team name therefore we are good

We can play seeding matches if you really want (NB timezone differences require us to plan these ahead of time), but I think the above is sufficient enough to warrant a div 1 placement.

just wanted to echo bonage, his team is definitely legit, hope they dont play div2 would be a SHAME

3 div LINE up just like i said BACK ON FUCKING PAGE 2

ok so I like eddy's division breakdown, but we still should discuss the positives and negatives of a 3 div or 4 div season. 3 divisions means longer season, but it looks like the teams all are competing where they want to be. 4 divisions will make it tougher to make everyone happy, but we get a shorter season. Is everyone ok with a long season?

i am okay with a long season. we should focus on having quality seasons over quantity. 1 good season will bring more players into the community than a short one people dont enjoy because they're not in the division they want to play in, or they just LOSE every game because players out of the skill level get put in their lower division

from what simba has told me, a 3 div season would take 3 months (2 months of 8 teams, 1 month of makeup weeks/finals)

if league starts 3/21 it ends mid june which is like right in the middle of summer. apparently the idea is people will have more scheduling conflicts but im sure we're all losers who never do anything so i think it wont be a problem. also plenty of MERCS to help other teams!!

Throwing these out there, though I don't think they're going to be agreeable, but brainstorming is gewd.

2 Options to keep 3 divisions. Think phone's point of the quality of matches being high is important, and modifying the format of the divisions play schedule can help.

(1) Divisions within Divisions. Divide the 8 team division into two sets by seedings [1,3,5,7], [2,4,6,8]. Have each Set play against all Setmates, and only 2 opposing set-mates (EU v US is an obvious division that I'm sure won't work, but that's the idea like any major league sport). Top 2 teams in each set have a playoff match, winners advance to finals.

(2) 1 map matches, more liberal ranges for when matches can be played (many don't wind up occuring on the weekend scheduled anyway. So teams can schedule 2 matches in a row on the same date more reasonably.

^ Frozen - I don't mind your idea of divisions within divisions in the sense that you get through the season faster, and you still would have to beat 2 top teams at the end to win your division. It could work, but people would have to agree.

How would you pick who your 2 opponents would be outside your set, randomly? Also, it would work better if we had accurate seeding which is harder to do. Easier to get the teams in the right divisions.

I don't like your idea on only playing one map. The reason is because sometimes you'll lose a round to a base rush or something crazy happened, but you still win 3 out of 4 showing you're the better team. If you played one map that would only show up as a 1-1 which I don't think works as well. Also, the 2 map setup works well when you play in 2 different servers.

I wasn't sure what would be best to pick the other two matches.

My best thought was:

1 Balanced Match: 1v2, 3v4, 5v6, 7v8

1 Tourney Match: 1v8, 2v7, 3v6, 4v5

The tourney match gives meaning to seeding within a division, which is neat in my opinion.
