Well Fana this is actually a post towards you. Nothing against your work but you cannot take criticism in any way. You cannot take it towards others and the worst case is towards yourself. If I criticise the army of israel i get a ban for about 5 days. I don't see the fun in here. When someone wrote that he is not liking you as a Moderator (i absolutely agree with this guy) you also banned him. What about letting people write what they think as long as it is not an insult. And rating or criticism is no insult as far as I know. And what the fuck is going on in the Player / Clan search thread? People like to communicate but you dont let them. What are these forums for? Having you fun deleting posts and banning people? WooW Sorry but you missunderstood this i guess. HOPEFULLY NO BANN INC. FUCK THIS. |

Follow the forum rules or face the consequences, it's that simple. Deleted posts and bans are always a consequence of breaking a rule. That's not to say I don't take some other concerns into account as well. Take this topic for instance. You post it in General Discussion, but it should be placed in feedback. I would delete it, but since it has some value for clarification on the moderation, I've moved it to the proper forum instead. As for your specific case. Your rhetoric was clearly aimed at flaming (as per the no flamewars rule), not starting a serious discussion. If you want to discuss a topic on this forum, you need to learn to do it in a mature manner. The ban itself, as was stated in the ban text, was not solely because of this one instance. I've deleted a lot of posts from you and I'm starting to get tired of it. You're wasting my time and if you can't be bothered to learn the rules, you'd better go post somewhere else. |

Why were psycomus' recruitment thread posts deleted? From what I saw they were all friends, constructive, and legit responses... |

I deleted one of the posts (EisTee's I think it was) by mistake (basically hit the wrong button). No way to get it back unfortunately. |

hi Fana i know you are an intelligent man and mean well but too many rules will lead to continuous rebellious behaviour and i know some people like MAAD act solely on impulse and that ruins the positive atmosphere of the community but comments like the ones in my thread they are not hurting anyone so what if a thread gets abit off topic? thats the beauty of the internet and free speech and most people in here are civil and can think for themselvs if someone decides to act on impulse and write a small retarded comment then people will just think what a douche and move on you dont need to delete the post then people will feel controlled and rebel. to sum it up "too much control=less control" :p and i apologize for the lack of periods and commas this was done kinda speedy because suprize! im making dinner! :P |

Fana you should work on your rules. What you do is bullshit. Noone wants to post something because he has to fear it will be deleted. And what is about the army from israel? Can't i critisize it? Nowhere in the rules that you can't critisize a regime. Getting tired of rewriting my post you know... |

I get the impression Fana is spending a lot of time trying to make his role more important; so, finding excuses and reasons to assert admin authority. The forum is getting way more boring now, less reason to post anything. The best forums often have a very open atmosphere and encourage communication.. what's going on in the recruitment thread seems counter intuitive. |

"Take this topic for instance. You post it in General Discussion, but it should be placed in feedback. I'm no forum expert, but the few forums I frequent all have admins that move wrongly placed topics instead of deleting them. Deleting them just gives you that kind of reputation people are complaining about in here. |

At some point, yes. But we're not there yet. If less than a page worth of rules is too much for this forum... You clearly didn't understand or read my post. You actually think I enjoy doing any of this? Forum moderation is the biggest waste of time I've ever ventured into. My only goal was to try to improve the forum, in many ways ENSL's public face to the community, in time for NS2. The gaping asshole the forums used to be were simply not conducive to recruiting new players to the competitive community and an embarrassment for the ENSL. |

As a general rule that works fine and is the way I've done things for the most part. The problem occurs when nobody places threads in the correct forum and I have to move them all the time. It's a waste of my time and sets a bad standard for the forum. The only tool I have in my toolbox to make people place topics in the correct forum is to delete them. |

if you keep this forum so strict as you want it to be it will end up with no one posting at it anymore, or the posts wont be seen cause you'll feel they are wrote in wrong order which you do not approve. dont put yourself on higher posistion than others. "Deleting them just gives you that kind of reputation people are complaining about in here." generaly relax man ; ) |

| I've had no problem with Fana's admining, so it's fine by me. There are a few slightly debatable rules, but I think Fana knows those thingys way better than I do. All in all, it's not a big deal for me, I'm just extremely grateful that we've got a dedicated admin here. | |

I could care less what Fana's motives are. I agree with the fact that the forums, along with various other facets of the ENSL, need an overhaul which instigates professionalism, tolerance and accessibility. If it were just NS1 we were talking about then it would be a futile effort but foundations are being gradually set for a much more functional ENSL for NS2. It's not worth looking at the massive ego behind an action if the action is progressive. No serious site tolerates abuse and only lazy sites allow topics to be dumped into any old area or go vastly off-topic. We're used to it, sure, but it doesn't mean it's right - it's retarded actually. |

I'm glad some of you see the point of the new forum cleanup. I personally think things as a whole are improving and hopefully I won't have to delete so many posts once people fully adjust. The whole "massive ego" thing is getting very old. I don't see what I've done to warrant it, nor do I deserve half of the abuse I get. At some point I'm simply going to stop bothering to do anything for the community, because all I get in return is shit. |

Let's get stuff straight; Yes Fana has a massive ego, and yes Fana, you do "warrant" it. Yet you don't deserve half the abuse. (But everyone in NS has an ego) Yes the forums are super-tightly moderated. (However tight rules are important in society) But YES the forums are much better now than they were before and it'll be better for the NS2 scene atleast if this keeps up. (Although a slightly less srict regime would probably suite better) Face it; if Fana doesn't moderate the forums, we all look like a bunch of kids/assholes, and if Fana does, everyone whines because they can't be a bunch of kids/assholes. Personally I feel Fana goes slightly OTT, yet I'd rather have the forums how they are now in comparison to before. |

Even though I don't get personally offended most of the bullshit on the old forums (and there was some stuff that was funny as hell), I still don't want old troll forums back because they really are a massive negative PR for ENSL as whole. Fana's moderating policy is not his own invention, altho of course individual actions are always debatable, but part of general increased strictiness across the board to keep this kind of community where others would like to join when NS2 comes out. And this is nothing compared to many other policies on other forums. |
