What NS2+ options / settings do you guys use? Have you your view models enabled? Hit sound, transparency map, different sensitivity, swalkmode, so forth :)

Oh, serversided blood is new to me! What a nice option.... it's like preventing the game from taunting you after the hitreg soaked up all your bullets :)
Love you mendasp!

What is the utility of the "Max decal lifetime" setting ?

Same question for "decal life time" in the vanilla options ?
NS2 quotes :
"We need an exo ! With gatling and shit !"
"C'mon Onos ! Move your fat ass !"
"I need a medical bag"
"Dude ! Grab your balls and let's push maintenance !"

You can increase the time before a decal (blood, bullet holes, et.c.) is removed in order to increase visual fidelity. However, decals seem to be client side, so it only works for decals that were made in your vicinity.

The vanilla option lets you turn decals off mostly.

I could easily make it write a file somewhere with all your settings.

No, I meant a .txt file like what swalk posted. The settings are stored with the other NS2 settings in options.xml in the Steam Cloud folder (which is inside the Steam folder).

A way to load and save complete configurations would be cool so like that save it as a text file then you can read or edit your config file and load it up again

(if every setting has comments in that configtextfile what every setting does it would even help quick editing it)

I think he meant that he could make an output config file, meaning it would only dump the settings into the txt file. The game would NOT read the file and load the settings in game, like what you would recognize from for example the old half life engine configs.

But yeah Mendasp, I think that would still be a pretty good idea. It would make it alot easier to dump your settings to a friend or in scenarios like this topic.

Added "plus_export" console command to save the settings to a text file for sharing settings or posting it to a forum, etc.

This exploit is not caused by NS2+, it's a bad consistency check by the server, this was fixed in vanilla a few months ago.

Read my post again.

Edit: To be precise, IN VANILLA (as I said), this was fixed in Build 273 released 2 months ago. The fact that you could repro it after it was addressed there is because the NSL mod didn't apply the same fix until recently so it was still there.
