a big part of golden's impact on a team is the calls he makes. and since ive spoken with him to basically let me make my own mistakes and make my bad calls so i can learn.

and the point of scrims isn't to win, it's to practice and identify your weaknesses. winning is for what matches are for. a big part of why i enjoy having golden merc is that he can help me see where i fucked up, what calls were bad, what worked well and why. and help me find out what my team is doing wrong post game, we're finding out that we have a lot to learn on how to cmmunicate effectively. and he has like 12 seasons of experience vs 0 of my own so all of this is insanely helpful.

From the few rounds I watched, it's PRETTY unfair to say that Golden carried in any shape or form. He did well but not like he was the deciding factor.

You shouldn't let a ringer get to your heads, just a word of advice.

I had nothing to do with the merc that was chosen but I will say this:

1. As was said before he didn't carry hard AT ALL
2. The games we played weren't even a stomp
3. Had you guys gotten really strong mercs we wouldn't have said anything about it

But of course you have to go whining every round about our "carry" mercs and so on when the games we did play were actually balanced, so to me it just looks like a lot of whining for absolutely no reason.

Anyways, my point being it's a scrim dude, calm down and if you really have such a huge problem with a merc say it straight up or don't play at all, rather than whine incessantly about it.

Dies Irae have not played any seeding matches, and havent played any games with the intention of winning yet - only learning. I dont understand why people post results of pcws, it makes no sense. Keep score all you want, but it really is useless except for officials and seedingmatches - neither of which have happened for this upcoming season yet.

Correct. Not sure why we posted the results, but I think people must have figured every pcw was a seeding match right now which isn't the case. Like I said earlier, there's no sense in doing a seeding match when you're in the same division and no need to post the results. Our bad on that one. I'm up for playing your team anytime as it's a good matchup.

Yaluzan - I see the updated breakdown in your first post in this thread. What are we leaning towards, the 3 div setup or the 4 div setup?

Thoughts on your latest breakdown:
4 div setup:
-you have seize and decyst in div 2, not sure how that is going to go over. I know you want possibly an even number of teams but if there are 7 teams of div 1 talent - might be better to just go with that and forget having even teams.
-you have flightless lerks, and dies irae in div 3...both of these teams could be among the best in div 2. I don't like the div 2 setup. I think the div 2 and div 3 have to be updated.

3 div setup:
-Not sure why the last div 1 team was put there over other teams.

It might be good to have someone that has played gathers with most of these players to also recommend what teams should go where based on where people's skills match up.

The actual rankings really do not matter. If you are happy with the division you are in, then leave it be. If you are unhappy, request a seeding match to play into the next div.

It seems the main problems here are communication and misinterpretation. Yaluzan has two sets of seedings and not much else other than people revising them with their opinions. Perhaps now with all the additional feedback we can pick one seeding list, and then state, now by next Monday morning play your respective seeding matches. Because viewing either of the seedings is confusing on who you would play for seeding. The misinterpretation is that a simple pcw is a seeding match. In the past when communicating to a team, you always stated beforehand you wanted to setup a seeding match, so then, the best lineups of said teams would be available thus creating a like-season match up. I agree with you that if there isnt a mention of seeding match and its only a pcw then it is just that.

3. I tried to get a strong merc (turts) for myself but they wanted to play with our available teammate (deck) and not turts (who was willing to merc)

I'm not whining, I wasn't even there for the majority of it, I'm just sayin' I just think it was bad manners to get Golden to merc for a PCW especially if you're gonna then post it on here as if it's a seeding match.

Half our team was against Golden merc and half just considered it good practice, which I agree with, but still. BM.

I wanna echo Deck and Simba that imo it's probably not very polite to announce non-official scrim results for semi-official seeding reasons unless the teams have a shared understanding of that.

Regarding 3 or 4 divs, I wanna point out that having 8 or 9 teams per div is much better for bracketing than 6 or 7. I don't care much beyond that.

Either way seize & decyst are targeting div 1 and I think we have proven capable. I've got a record of our matchups to date and if you are considering boxing us out of the top div please contact me before finalizing that.

Up a division? Or Up one spot? you need to be more specific, and you also need to mention with respect to which seeding? The official? Phone's?

I prefer 4 divisions. There is a lot of skill disparity in the middle level teams.

4 Divisions is faster. Basically the difference between 2 month and 3 month season given the longer the season is, the more like teams will drop out, become inactive, and the more "makeup weeks" we have to give. It also means the finals will be closer to the middle of the summer.... yeaaa yuck.

Should Dies Irae be div 3? Skill wise, they could be better than at least one of those div 2 teams. Also don't know enough about, Like a Glove, but you would put them in div 3? I think if we go with simba's 4 div scenario, these teams should be reviewed at who is really better before deciding who would go div 2:
