So, what could we do better next time? Do you guys want round robin (although doesn't seem viable as weekend cup, or at least much much more work) or double elimination? All suggestions are welcome.

First:

Get a few other Admins to help you .. seems like you are on your own.
And yeah been there before .... pretty tough to have things work properly without at least say .. 2 ppl to help you .. yeah it is not many teams so it might work .. but for the future find some ppl who actually want to help and dont like the power to help out.

Second:

BUY ME NS2 so i can show you guys how bad the game is XD !

Good job organizing this dude. Shit takes effort and it's very rare that somebody will actually make that effort.

More admins would be nice of course, but other than advertising for admins I don't know what you can do about that.

Group play with less than eight teams would be nice, but that could cause problems with getting the tournament finished in one night.

I expect for most of us the priority is that it gets finished in one night. Well it is for me, anyway.

Double elimination is the obvious way forward, since round robin is going to take way too long.

What sort of FPS are people getting these days by the way?

Some rule changes are needed though, especially with regards to mercs. A team should only be allowed to field mercs if the other team agrees.

you should make a league like in football or ESL and have the best 4 teams fighting in a tournament like the NS2BNC ;) or at least make it fair so noone has to play an extra round (arc vs duplex)
