Recent Issues

Hello,

I would like to inform teams about one important issue that has come up. Broken braphics card drivers or libraries can cause you to have misbehaving snapshot function. Usually problem is that gamma changes or screen goes all black. It has happened atleast with Nvidia Geforce 7950 GX. One known solution is to disable anisotrophic filtering and anti-aliasing.

For the future, please make sure your snapshot function is working by typing snapshot in the game console beforehand or play games with forced snapshots turned on. If it breaks your ns in an official, your team will not be eligible for replay since the problem is client-side. In case the snapshots are black or otherwise disrupted, it might cause you to be suspended.

how do you know this is down to a broken graphics card and not a problem with the old engine + 3rd part plugin + modern gfx card?

which part of the gfx card has to break for this to happen?

also- change the plugin spam when the round starts. it says something like "Changing rates will result in a kick" but it seems to kick for other client changes, too. Got booted out for raising fps_max from 111 to 125- had the plugin said "Changing client settings will result in a kick" then i'd have known not to change it.

Sherpa, yes, it can steam, hl, ns, gfx card, dx or graphics drivers but plugin has nothing to do with this, it just runs a client command. Same thing as doing it from the console yourself.
