The 16th NS Nightcup Winners and Season 14 info!

Hi everybody!

For those who missed it, the boys in take over defeated RAMBOs in the 16th NightCup final, played last Sunday. The match ended 3-1 to take over. Congratulations to them and RAMBOs for a well played, entertaining and fair game!

Now, to even more fun! We are in the middle of discussing the next ENSL season! At the moment, time for sign ups are not determined, however they will open soon and stay open for around 2-3 weeks. This should allow people to have enough time to make teams with enough players.

More info to come shortly, in the mean time, go make that team!

sometimes i wish i played this game 5years ago when it was active , because deep down i know people are with me when i say this , i dont want ns1 to die :*(

it was active but it was full of pubbers. and i hate pubbers. maybe back in 2003-2004 when steam came up would be ok. because 1.04 lacked of the skill we achieved now, and 2.0 was still full of bugs and uneven balance.

When the game came out, it was something totally epicwtfhackzohmygod, even the graphics were good by that time's standards.

It was active in 2001-2003, and scene was epic. The game had the biggest HL scene after DoD. We even had a finnish tournament like some other countries like France.

And the public servers were big and there was lots of variation, most servers had none of this Extralevels-crap. There were lots of servers you could enjoy playing on.

It's really a shame they completely nailed the gameplay in 3.2 when most of the community had already been lost.

Yeah, there's still space for tweaking though. JPs are overpowered for one.

It was a fun tournament all in all. It could've used a few more top flight competitors, but the final was a nice and close finish.

yea jps are a bit lul... I would like to see HA used more, but it's always the last choice as JPs are so cheap and they are excellent for holding and pushing...

Well yeah, it's far from perfect.

Most of all 3.2 was a huge deal for teams below the top tier. Suddenly the games were no longer dominated by a semi-decent fade/lerk combo and the game became a lot less about trying to steal a marine round somehow.

3.2 was a big improvement over 3.1, no doubt. The 3.1 Lerk was ridiculous.

3.0b5 was actually my favourite. It had a lot of problems of course, especially that the game was basically over when aliens had two Hives and the lack of viable alternative alien strats, but up until that point it was remarkably well balanced.
